  • My first attempt at detailing...

Hey Guys...well this is my first attempt at detailing - it is a black 2007 Holden Caprice (I'm from Australia) and took me about 4 hours to do. I used an 8 inch rotary buffer. My process was:

Wash - Nxt generation car wash.
    Quick clay.
Wash - nxt generation car wash.
1 x Deep crystal paint cleaner.
2 x Nxt generation tech wax liquid.

Black paint is so hard to do but I surprised myself with how good the results were. We have limited access to a lot of products you have in USA so have to improvise a bit. I was pleased with the results and a fortnight on it still looks mint.

        hey perthexcite,

The car looks great. Send me email at kastanaras@gmail.com and I will send you a list of sites where you can find some of those hard to get products you can't get in Australia.

Thanks for your observations. I might have got the "lingo" wrong and maybe even the hardware?? At the minute I can only get my hands on a 8" orbital "buffer" or is it "polisher"...I am going to buy a Makita multi-speed 8" polisher as we can't get the Porter-Cable Dual Action Polishers in Australia. Hope I got teh hardware descriptions right...

                    Nice car/ Detail!

This is going to be the new Park Avenue in North America. I think it will get an upgraded interior before it comes over though.
