  • Hunting season is over...Let the cleaning begin!

I can't believe I let me truck get this dirty! But hey, if it can't get dirty, what good is it?? Well, I FINALLY got to clean it up a bit this weekend. After 8 hours of work, I still have about 3-4 to go. I just needed to share of pics....you guys know how it goes.....all that hard work, need to show something off!

What I did get to do:

    Gold Class Car Wash Soap
    Meguiar's Detailing Clay
    M80 (with 8006 pad)
    M5 (with 9006 pad)

    Still to come:

    M21 and M26
    vacuum
    glass
    trim

    Hunting Season = Dirty Truck

    Before M80...(after claying)
Pretty nasty under all that dirt!

    After 2 passes of M80...
Still have work to do, but much better!

    Before M80...(after claying)
    Ouch, my eyes!

    After 2 passes of M80...

    After M80 and M5...
    Starting to shape up!

Still more to come tomorrow.....stay tuned!

I agree...looks great!! Not to sound mean here or anything, but was it like that before hunting season? If I recall correctly, your truck looked really good in a thread. Does the dirt and mud just destroy it?

Great work and I can't wait to see the end results!!

It looked pretty good before hunting season, but I didn't wash it for over 2 months during the season. Since it was in the woods pretty much every weekend, I didn't see a need to get it all pretty. Going through the trails, the tall brush and occasional branches gave it a pretty good beating. (Plus, Dodge clear coats are notoriously sensitive). I think another reason I didn't wash it was that I couldn't stand to see what was beneath the mud.

I think last time I posted my detailing was 1 year ago...you have a very good memory

Thank you for the compliments! I can't wait to finish this thing!

Ouchhhhh those swirl marks were bad before, glad to see you were able to get the great majority out. Truck looks great man. I like the wheel/tire setup too, nice choices.

Yea, I understand...before I rotary'd (word?) the Jeep, it looked like somebody had taken a metal rake down the side about 100 times. The bushes in the desert don't really like to be nice to your paint.

Looks great and I can't wait to see the finished product!

Wow what a difference. Your truck looked like a ad for Brillo pads. No offense. What a improvement. Looks great. Can't wait for the finished shots. It looks great. Way to go.

When I get comfortable with the PC, that will be my next stage up. I'll have to get a dodge hood from the junkyard and test with it

No offense taken at all! I know it looked horrible!!! It hurt my eyes to look at it, but I'm really happy with how it's turning out.

way to clean up that truck... looking at the before/after pics for the swirl removal, looks like you may wanna bump up to M83.

                    just a thought!

Thank you! Yeah, I actually ran a pass of M83 on a section and I couldn't really tell that much of a difference. There are just some things that you can't take out with the DA, so once I have more confidence, I would like to try my hand at a rotary.

Re: Hunting season is over...Let the cleaning begin!

Well, as promised.....daytime pics! I only had a few minutes to take these, but here they are....

                        M21 (with 9006 pad)
                        M26 (with 9006 pad)
                        All season dressing on tires
M40 on interior and exterior plastics (sorry, no pics of interior)

I took these before I completed my trim work because I had to go and it was going to be dark before I could finish it completely.
