WOW!! Both cars look amazing...is the Cobra a replica or original (sorry if this is completly obvious, but I can never tell).

    Great write up as well..

You're absolutely right Mike. I'm going to try the M105 on my truck see how that works out.

It's a replica, Ryan. Superformance builds and sells what are essentially kit cars that are replicas of Cobras, GT40s and Daytona Coupes. "Kit car" is kind of a funny term though since these things can cost upwards of $70,000 without the engine. The vehicles are fully assembled in South Africa and then shipped to the US where engines are ultimately fitted, but not until after the client purchases the car, hence the "kit" designation and the registration/smog benefits that go along with that. With engine some of these cars ultimately cost in excess of $100,000.

Road & Track did a full test on the Daytona Coupe two years ago - read it HERE.

For those who don't care to click the link, ponder this:

        Engine: Ford 427 V8, 566HP, 563lb-ft
        Gearbox: Tremec T-56 6-speed manual
        0-60: 3.5 seconds
        1/4 mile: 11.8 seconds at 122.4 mph
        Skidpad: 1.07g
Slalom: 76.6mph (this is an astonishing number!)
        Top speed: 204mph
        Curb weight: 2910
        Price (complete car): $87,700

Nice work Mike! Really cool cars and looks like lots of fun.

I guess this further proves the importance of doing a test spot. Also shows why we have so many tools (products) in our tool kit.

Very true. This is the point of doing a Test Spot on every car you work on, the idea being to test out the pad product and process you're thinking about using over the entire car to just one small area or a Test Spot.

Make sure you can make one small are look good before going over the entire car.

Another thing to keep in mind is the philosophy that Meguair's has been teaching people since we've been in this business and that's,

"Always use the least aggressive product to get the job done"

This means when doing your test spot to test the least aggressive products you can to see if they will remove the defects and restore the show car shine, if the first product you choose don't get the job done you can always substitute a more aggressive product. There's no good reason to start out with a very aggressive product until you're certain a less aggressive product won't get the job done.

            Nice work Mike!

Hey Mike its nice to my cars up there, im the one in mike's story that keeps walking by saying, "God that looks redder."

And we cant wait to have Mike back soon to do some more cars for us, we will probably keep him busy in certain cars before major shows.

Well its nice to see people appreciate the work you did as much as we did here at Superformance.

              Thanks Mike,

              Justin

Hey Mike how long did it take you to detail the Ferrari? Did it include wash?

IMO it's not fair to call a Superformance a "kit car".
To me a kit car is something you build on a Fiero or VW chassis. Quality component cars like Factory Five, ERA, Superformance, Beck etc... deserve their own catagory.

I've driven a Superformance (father rented one for my wedding day) awesome vehicle. I loved it so much I had to have one, except I went with a Factory Five.

The car was clean when I got to it, just needed to give a once over with a QD to get any dust off it. I spent just over 5 hours polishing/waxing.

hacker-pschorr, I agree that the term "kit car" doesn't do these cars justice and I only use the term because that's how they are technically classed since they enter the country without an engine. Certainly the term "amazing" is much more apropos.

I agree with the sentiments here regarding the test spot. If this is not a way to drive the point home, all is lost. Once again Mike great work on the superproformance vehicles.
