  • Nissan Silvia DETAILED

This is a Nissan Silvia which I believe is a Nissan 240SX in the states. This car was painted about one year ago using the same color as the Infiniti G35 and had really bad bonded contaminants.

    Process:
    - Washed with NXT
    - APC on tires & dressed with ASD
    - Clayed with mild clay bar
    - 105 with WWLC7 wool pad
    - D151 with W-8006
    TIME: 9:40hrs.

    Here is the car before

Was difficult to capture on white pearl but swirls are visible

The paint felt really rough & felt as though it had a uniformed layer off overspray. Windows were also clayed. There were times when the clay looked worse than this

I used my paint thickness gauge to check the thickness after calibrating the tool. One area measured close to 20.0. I asked if any body work was done & sure enough there was. By the way that's a bead of 105 you see above the ptg.

Paint looked perfect with just the WWLC7 pad & M105. I was afraid of any holograms so I went over it with D151

Here is my work area to give you all an idea. Not much room & I was also trying to avoid rubbing up against any oil & dirt. Keeping clean while detailing is tough enough but this was a little tougher for me.

The customer had the trunk fin painted after the body by another shop. There was orange peel that he wanted to have removed. I tried my best to get it looking as perfect as possible.

Wetsanded using 1500 followed by 2000 & polished with M105 in which you can see a bead of

    Here are the final results

Wheels were left as is per customers request. He is going to have them refurbished & straightened out. He was telling me that these are rare Japanese wheels. In the end he was happy with the results. He wants me to polish out his NSX soon which is full of swirls

Those wheels are pretty rare to see. Very pricey, great work and a beautiful finished product.

I'm pretty enthusiastic because I have the watered-down US version of that vehicle.

                      And the NSX...wow.

                      Good work!

Great pictures indeed. Plus great job on the silvy.

Wheels looks like one of my neighbours here. Think they are Volks..(not 100% sure though-lots of similar patterns from other manu. )
