  • Exterior Detail of Black Monte Carlo

I finally got a chance to detail the exterior of my brother-in-law's 2005 black Monte Carlo. It is a daily driver that sets out 24-7 and has 43,000 on the clock.

    Process was:
    Wash with GC
    Clay with Smooth clay kit
Clean with M80 (except on a couple of bad spots where I used M83) using G100 with Meg's yellow foam pad
Wax with NXT 2.0 using G100
I didn't get to many pictures, but you can see what I was up against.

    Before

    After

I do have one question. There was a large bug imprint on the front of the hood that 3 passes of M83 would not completely remove. What could I use to maybe have removed this completely? I am sorry I do not have a picture of the imprint, but it was etched in pretty good. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Looks great, night and day difference! Can't help you on the etching but I am sure someone will!

Maybe some M105? Just my thoughts, maybe someone with more experience using the product could help.

great job, as for the bug etch, M105 maybe the answer, you would need to go very carefully or know the Paint Thickness.

Nice save. I bet your brother-in -law is thrilled. The monte looks great. Nice and reflective.

As for the etching I would give #105 a shot. I seem to remember a thread were it was used to remove type 2 water spots. I know you said it was from a bug. But I would try it.

It seems as if #105 is the product of choice for removing the bug etching. Since I have never used #105 should I try it by hand or G100?
