  • neglected Chevy Tahoe

My friend and his wife wanted their car cleaned up. The water spots were their main concern.

Boy, big mistake! It's etched in the paint really bad. The water that normally runs down from the driver side mirror, ate through the clear in the worst way as well. I did a test section on the back driver side door sanding with 2k. That seemed to be the solution followed by a LC yellow pad, m105, then a buff n shine blue pad and 85rd. Yeah, that wasnt gonna happen. I got out what i could and left it at that.

    Let's see....process and products:
    soaked with CG CW&G
clayed with megs white and clay magic blue
cleaned all the black trim with m39
PakShak APC was used on the wheel wells
Megs Wheel Brightner was used on the rims and tires
    MX7 Plus on the glass.
Dressed the trim with either megs HD, Megs trim detailer, or 303.

Sealed with Trade Secret and Hydro except for the roof where we used 845.
We used Hydro on the door jams.
Hawaiian Island Shine Chrome and glass polish on the chrome.
Black magic tire foam on the tires.

Umm...yeah...can't really think of much else to say. Enjoy the interesting part:

Thank you both. It was a tough job. I forgot to mention that I also used Megs UC to help out when the M105 was flashing too soon.

Is it tough having two right hands?

Seems like it would be handy in detailing, two right hands and one left hand taking the picture. Heck he's got 3 hands, you work 1.5 times more efficient than the rest of us!

The tahoe looks great too, nice work!

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

                    I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
                    Remove swirls my friends.
