  • Subaru Liberty 2004. Paint correction

    Hi all,

I just bought a Subaru Liberty(Legacy outside OZ), 2004, and the paint was dull.

5 Years old car and never been treated well. So much oxidation(50g clay use once and then go to rubbish bin). Then I just bought a Rotary Polisher yesterday and to make a paint correction also to minimize the swirls and scratch.

    I use:
    1. Meguiar's Ultimate compound
    2. Meguiar's M26 show glaze
    3. Meguiar's quik clay
    4. Repco tyre black
    5. Armor all wheel cleaner
    6. Armor all interior protected
    7. Meguiar's Ultimate quik wax

Using speed from 600RPM to 1250-1300 RPM. Pads using what I got from the rotary, wool pads. It's not bad though. Now I just need to buy polishing pads and 4" pads.

When I got the car-Dull paint:

Before-Swirls, Scratch, and oxidation (sorry only 1 photo, because I got class to catch up, LOL):

    Thanks for watching.

Re: Subaru Liberty 2004. Paint correction

I know that UC not meant for Rotary, but it never breaksdown since I think the difference with 105 is that UC are for consumer line.

And to be honest, I don't have the money for 105-205, because in OZ or in Indonesia, the price tag for 105-205 are around US$60 bucks. But I'll get it soon, because I tried it before and love that product.

                Cheers

Nicely done! We're seeing more and more people using UC with a rotary and getting very good results. This is one of those things where if you asked us first if you should use UC or something else, we would suggest a product designed for rotary use. But when you come to us after the fact and you've gotten this kind of result, it's darn near impossible for us to tell you that you're wrong!

i used UC on my g110v2 and usually within one pass i can get the defects out

                    UC should not be under-estimated

Yup, I know that UC are not meant to be for rotary, but from the test and etc, it's definitely can be use for rotary. But again, the right way is to get 105-205 prof lines.

I hope in OZ or Indo, 105-205 only for around $30-40 bucks, then I will buy bunch of those product.. LOL
