  • 2010 Chevy Malibu LTZ

Very new with only 11k miles.

Exterior was clean, inside was a little rough for a new car.

    Befores:

Sprayed the wheels, tires, & wells down with All Purpose Cleaner, then foamed, agitated, & finally rinsed.

Did a light foaming of the body with several oz of 3D Wash & Wax & Super Soap.

Lowes grout sponge & Meguiars wash mitts were used for wash media.

Did an QD ONR dilution wipedown on the engine bay & painted shuts.

I then pulled the mats from the car.

Did a dry brush & vac, then shampooed them with 3D Capret Shampoo, a Lowes grout sponge, and a carpet brush.

Rinsed with water, extracted with my shop vac, & finally towel dried.

I pulled pure black soapy water out of each mat.

This is just from the rear mats:

The interior carpet was given a dry brush & vac, which took over an hour.

All hard surfaces & leather were given an All Purpose Cleaner wipedown folllowed by an application of Quik Interior Detailer.

Glass was cleaned inside and out with Glass Cleaner Concentrate 10:1.

All crevices were brushed out with a paintbrush.

Door & trunk jambs got an ONR wipedown at QD dilution.

I clayed the paint with Detailing Clay (Mild) & clay lube diluted ONR.

Paint was waxed/sealed with HD Poxy.

Tires & wells dressed with All Season Dressing x2.

Exhaust pipes recieved Glass Cleaner Concentrate & steel wool.

Nick - fantastic job, as always.

I'm not familiar with HD Poxy. Why did you choose to use it for this detail vs say M20, NXT or some other sealant?

Great job Nick! Car looks really nice like usual.

The HD Poxy really makes that paint slick.

Looks better than the day the factory made it.

Are you getting tired of these 1-2" nuisance snows?
It seems every time I ONR wash the wife's TBSS or the
        "other vehicle" we get another 1 -2 inches....maybe I
        should stop washing the cars?!?!

            Thank you.

Picked up the HD Poxy over at Autopia before the new year.

Been using it on every vehicle since the new year as well.

If I did not have the Poxy I would most likely have just used M20.

            Thanks.

Leaves the paint looking nice and buttery during application and after removal.

            Thanks Paul.

I am growing tired of it as well.

I dont wash my truck more than once or twice in the winter so It does not matter so much to me.

When are you going to post pics of the "other vehicle".

Is your car out of the shop yet?

Looks great. The Malibu is on the short list of cars to be my wife's new ride later this year.

1-2" Nuisance snows are getting old. I'm ready for one of the storms like the east coast keeps getting - Skilling says we may get some decent snow early next week. I've done a hybrid Super Soap with foam gun followed by ONR wash a couple of times this winter only to have it snow a day or two later. I'm convinced that our next vehicle needs to be road salt gray since my dark blue truck is constantly gray in the winter.

                        Great job as usual !!
I have got to ask. I notice you wash your cars in the garage, what do you have on the walls that can take this kind of water abuse ?
I dont have much room in my garage and I would love to have a similiar setup as you.
You keep the floors walls and ceiling spotless !

                        Thanks, Mike

Just made the inside smell better.

Still smelled like it a little since it gets into the carpeting, headliner, etc.

For the right price I would focus on this.

                          Its something different.

But I work faster with a wash mitt for some reason.

Maybe becuase its all I ever use.
