1999 Toyota Tacoma Oxidized

This was a exterior only detail.
i used the Meguiars G110 DA

Process was,
smooth surface clay kit
Ultimate compound on speed 5
M205 on speed 4
and hand application of NXT 2.0
Hot Shine Tire Gel
Mag and Aluminum Polish


Paint was very oxidized, obvious neglect and improper washing over the years. And common problem from single stage paint i assume.

nice restore!

Single stage red is tough. the oxides that make the red also make the oxidation.

Looks like the headlights need some work too

Great work.

The truck will actually have a chance to bead water now that all that dead paint is removed.

Thanks guys. The headlights did need some work, I offered but all he wanted was his color back, got to listen to customer lol.

Nice job! I enjoy looking at restoration work on well-used daily drivers than on brand-new Ferraris and Porsches.

Nice work! Reminds me of a 91 Integra that I used to have. The problem with single stage paint is that it will start to fade again very quickly, though not as bad as it was.
