2005 BMW X3.
New customer who wanted a premium exterior/interior detail.
As you may have saw from my other thread, I recently picked up some IronX to try out. This X3 was a good initial test subject as it had a lot of contamination that would have taken a good couple of hours to shave off with clay.
IronX is a strong Iron filling/contaminant remover that is acid free and safely decontaminates paint, wheels, & glass. It removes these iron particles & contaminants that detailing clay typically shaves off or only partially removes. It turns reddish purple when it comes in contact with iron particles.
A lot of light colored and especially white paint surfaces on the rear & lower end of vehicles show visible signs of iron particles & contamination. All vehicles that are daily driven have some level of iron & contamination but its a matter of how severe and how visible.
My experience with this product is limited as I only have used it on three vehicles. I have yet to use it on something severely contaminated. I ordered one bottle as well as an extra 1 liter jug so I could use it on at least 8-10 vehicles.
So far I like this product a lot, I wish I had it for all the vehicles I have ever done as I would have saved hours of my time and some clay bars along with it. Leaves the surface feeling very smooth and removes those nasty rust specked looking iron particles from the paint. The color changing is a cool feature to as it allows you to see the exact areas it is bleeding from. It sprays on clear and in some areas will turn color in seconds. You need to let it sit 5-7 minutes to get the best effect and it will not dry up in that time either.
The price is a little steep but at $16 a bottle it still is a nice product. You also need to be sure to rinse very well and use lots of soap and water when it comes to removal time. Those are the only two real negatives I could find with my use.
I will show how I use it on my wash/decon process here.
Before:

This car had moderate contamination I would say. I sprayed it on after washing, let it sit for nearly ten minutes, and walked around and inspected the whole time. It did not dry up on me which I thought it would. It was hot and still a little sunny in the evening too. I used about 75% of the spray bottle.
The hatch area had the most contamination along with the sides of the vehicle.
Here is the car after all the wash/decon steps are complete:
After cleaning the interior, I finished detailing the exterior of the vehicle.
Polished/waxed with #66 - Quick Detailer (Cleaner/Wax) via PCXP.
Tires/wells dressed with Hyper-Dressing 2:1.
Tar treated with Tarminator.
Trim dressed with All Season Dressing.
Chrome polished with Mothers chrome polish.
Ext. After:

Before:
Leather/vinyl cleaned with All Purpose Cleaner & hot water mix.
Carpets shampooed with 3D Carpet Shampoo.
Leather/vinyl dressed with Quik Interior Detailer.
Jambs washed with ONR.
Glass cleaned with Glass Cleaner Concentrate 10:1.
