  • 2008 NHBP Civic EX 2 step paint correction (pic heavy)

    Recently had a customer bring in a 2008 Civic EX NHBP
    car was in pretty bad shape. After taking measurements of the paint, if safe enough to compound the paint. Was getting average readings of 4.5-6 mils
    One fender got replaced had 20mils of paint on it which is not uncommon.
    Customer Also requested the engine bay to be degreased and dressed up. Also the headlights to be restored. Front carpets were extracted from stains and protected for future spills.


    Products Used on Exterior
    Since it was raining is Socal all weekend i had to use Rinse less method to wash the paint. ONR
    Decontamination
    ONR diluted to clay specs
    Speedy prep Clay towel and hand mitt
    nano skin sponges
    Carpro Tar X
    Carpro Iron X
    Re Washed after decon process
    Re washed after Compounding stage (tons of dust from the compounding)


    Rupes 21- 5 inch perfect fit BP
    Rupes Mini Bigfoot
    Flex 3401 LC BP system
    Flex PE-14- 3,5,6 BP
    Meguiars 101
    Menzerna FG400
    IPA Wipedown after compounding


    Sonax Perfect finish 4/6
    Carpro Reflect Polish
    Buff n Shine 5.5 green, blue, white polishing pads
    Meguiars 5.5 MF Cutting disc
    Lake Country Hybrid 5 inch pads
    Lake country hybrid Purple Wool pads
    LSP Blackfire Black Ice


    Tires was dressed with and trim restored with
    Ultima Tire & Trim Guard





    Products Used For engine bay


    Meguiars super degreaser
    Meguiars APC
    Various Brushes and MF towels
    Sonus Trim & Motor Kote for dressing

    1000 Sand paper
    2000 Sand paper
    3000 Sand paper
    3 inch wool pad
    Flex PE-14
    Meguiars 101
    Menzerna PF2500
    Menzerna SF4000
    IPA Wipedown
    Optimum Opti-Lens








    It stopped raining long enough for me to take the car outside and work on the wheels.

          Nice job. How did the repainted area compare to the OEM area when you were correcting it? Just curious as my daily needs a few items on it repainted.

              The paint on this car was on the softer side, like most hondas ive done. but that re painted fender was noticeably hard, took a couple of passes with M101 and wool pad. Foam pad wasnt really touching it and it has alot of sanding marks i wanted to get out.
