Well got a call from a friend that her boyfriend needed ( wanted ) his truck done, When i got there I could really tell why! Side note, they live about 2 miles up a dusty.... gravel road.

So I had to wait around for a little bit after I got there for them to clear some more stuff out of the truck. So I walked around the truck a few times to see what was really going on with the paint and the surface. Pretty bad condition all the way around, from swirls filling the entire truck, to brush scuffs and scratches from hunting to being keyed! So I had my work cut out for me.

By the way I am horrible at write ups, so bare with me and any suggestions would be helpful and nice as well. ( for the truck and pointers with the write ups! lol thanks )

    Steps and products:

Vacuumed all interior, Washed everything down with APC about used Megs. Hyper Dressing on all interior trims ( not seats, thought about trying it but wasnt sure, anybody do this before ? ) Leather cleaner/conditioner on all seats.

Wash: Griots Wash / Got a killer deal on a gallon
2 bucket method, MF wash mit

    Clay: Griots
    Clay Lube: Megs QD

Meguiars Ultimate Black on the Bed lining and lower panels around the truck were also either Linex'd or Rhino Lined. ( this was some what a pain in the but becuase it was extremely dry and soaked up a ton of product, any ideas on that ? )

    Megs D/A

So I started out with Megs Yellow pad and UC, it did alright but just wasnt working fast enough for me. So i switched up to the 5" M/F System and it was working much faster for my liking. I started working against the time and the sun. So product started drying out really quick, so i started using final inspection to spray the pad and then I tried to use some UC to try to get a little longer working time, it worked, and extended out the work time a little bit. But used a lot of compound. ( I was already low but need to buy some more now )

Just did a 2 step, the cutting disc didnt any haze that I could see looking in direct sunlight, so I went to wax. I used the finishing wax with a few drops of #26 as well. Just was trying it own to see how it would work. Nothing that i noticed.

A few of the above are before it got washed, and some after as well .

    Back pass. side

    Front pass. side

    Front pass. side

clay from half of the tailgate....

    clay from trim pass. door.

This is a 50/50 shot, left side corrected, 3 passes, this was my test spot, and gave me an idea of what was going to be needed. It is a lot harded to see then I thought it was going to be.

I think this is my favorite shot of this detail.

    There it is!

I do have another question, I am trying to start a mobile detailing business, and working on pricing and all that good stuff so i can start putting the website together. What would some of you guys charge for a project like this ? Just trying to get some ideas. I charged 200.00, not sure if it was enough or to much. I looked at some local detailers websites and some are crazy low and some were higher then what I charged. So just trying to get an idea of what should I be around on projects this size and with the correction ?

    Thanks for Looking!

    Nice work!

I must say, I can't tell the difference in your 50:50 shot, but the after shots of the truck overall look great.

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

I have agree. You will have to play around with the angles and light source to better show that 50/50. Overall you did a great job.

On your price some will say its low and others say it will be high but from what I see across the forums is to look at what detailers charge in your area and base your price on that.

Also on to using too much ultimate black. Well if the plastic has never been dressed and protected then it will absorb a lot of product until it finally levels itself out.

I agree that you cant really tell the difference from the photo of the 50/50. I can becuase I saw it in person so i know where to look exactly. Yeah, I forgot the halogen light at home this day so I didnt really have a light source that i could really light the panel up. I assumed the problem was that the lining was really dry and thats why it absorbed so much product. I think i would have used the whole bottle if i did the entire bed, for that reason i chose not to do so at the time.

        Thanks
