  • M80 vs. M01 + M09

I already have a bottle of M01 (Fine Cut Cleaner) and M09 (Swirl Remover 2.0). Would I still need a bottle of M80 and why?

    Thank you in advance!

M01 is Medium Cut Cleaner, which is for rotary only. I think the jump from M01 to M09 is too big and I’d definitely want to keep something around that was in between.

The new version of M02 Fine Cut Cleaner is for rotary, DA, orbital or hand so you could conceivably use it instead of M80. It does cost more. It’s only a little higher on the aggressiveness scale. Personally, I like M80 too much not to keep it around. It’s higher in polishing oils than M02 so it has longer working time and you can usually skip the separate pure polish step.

You can usually skip the separate polish step with M09 too but it’s so mild that I wouldn’t even bother trying to use it for reconditioning, just for removing swirls.

          PC.

I just realized I made a mistake, sorry. I do have Fine Cut Cleaner and that's what I typed in and meant but I also made a typo and entered M01 thinking M02.

Should I interpret this as I don't need M80 if I already have M02 and M09, and after reconditioning once right with M02 followed by M09 majority of maintenance could be done with M09?

I was under impression Meguiar's Professional Catalog for 2006 says M01 can be used with DA.

            Thank you again!

              Hey,

That info in the catalog is a typo.

M01 Medium Cut Cleaner is for rotary use only.

                  Hey,

PC stands for Porter Cable and usually is reference to their Dual Action Polisher, the 7424. Meg's offers the G100, essentially the PC but it has a life time warranty.
