Need advise on #80 & #81...

Hi everyone,

I need some advise on the above...

In Singapore, #81 Hand Polish is not available and the shop I spoke to told me I can replace #81 with #80 Speed Glaze.

1) I would like to know whether what is the different between the 2 product?

2) Can #80 be used as a cleaner/polish at one go using my Waxmaster obital polisher (in order to replace DC step #1 & #2), Finish with NXT Tech wax.(Planning to do this weekend)

#81 is a pure polish and most closely resembles #7 Show Car Glaze.

May I ask whether #80 can it be use as a paint cleaner & polish (to replace Deep Crystal #1 & #2) before I wax with NXT Tech wax?

DC#1 is a chemical paint cleaner much like Medallion Premium Paint Cleaner (MPPC). It contains very little abrasives. They both work very well at removing oxidation and light swirls and is gentle on your paint.

DC#2 is a pure polish much like #81 or #7. Also, it contains very little abrasives.

#80 Speed Glaze has more abrasives present and they break down fairly quickly.

To answer your question, #80, Speed Glaze can give good results prior to using NXT. It works differently, but effectively, using abrasives rather than chemicals.

The only thing I don't like about #80 is that it dries white and sticks tenaciously if not removed promptly. It gets into all seams, cracks and crevices. #7 and #81 don't dry white. It's been a long time since I used the DC products and I can't recall if they dry white or not but I tend to think they don't.

So I think the combo Of: #80 speed glaze + NXT wax
should be Ok and will not be too abrasives for fairly new paint...

Actually, I am trying to find a product that can be used as cleaner/polish at one go...
I love the result of DC #1 & #2 finished with NXT.
But because I am doing step #1 & #2 by hand, usually after that process, my arms will be too weak to do anything else

I am actually very new to detailing work, but after I found this forums 2 months back, I got addicted and start buying Meguiars'
products for my car.

Currently, I am only using an old Waxmaster obital polisher(fixed speed) to apply NXT wax because I'm still not skillful enough to use it for other application

what color is your car? is it a clear-coated metallic paint? and how is the condition of your paint?

#80 + NXT is a really nice combo, especially for metallic paints!

and #80 will nicely take the place of DC Steps 1 & 2.

you could try using your Waxmaster orbital polisher to apply #80. try using it on small section and see if it cleans it up nicely or not. be sure to check if it is creating marrs or not.

if your paint doesn't have any swirls, apply #80 and make a few quicky passes and then remove it. if your paint does have swirls, you can try to slowly work #80 until it is clear before removing.
