  • New Car routine

If you have a new car say 2007, you would do

    Wash
    Clay
    #80
    #7
    #21
    NXT 2.0

But since i cant find #21, its cool to skip it ( I know if i don't have it I have to, but should i wait till i can find it before i do all this work) ? Or it being a new car with light swirls, just skip #7, and trust #80 to work its magic.

It's fine to skip #21; NXT 2.0 will protect well on it's own. Whether or not #7 will make a difference on your car after #80 is kind of a case-by-case thing. You'll just have to try it and see if it makes a difference.

#21 or Nxt would be either or. You want two coats of wax, but whether it is two coats of #21 or two coats of Nxt wont make a difference really. Maybe you would end up liking one more than the other, but that would be it.

As far as #7 and #80, if there are swirls, you would need #80. #7 cant remove swirls. But #7 is richer in polishing oils, that is it could give the paint a little deeper, more reflective look. However, the lighter colored the car, the less and less the effect will be.

For your newer car I would wash, clay as needed, #80 then two coats of NXT 2.0 and then enjoy. Lydia is right #7 is not needed especially on lighter colors and #21 is the same as 2.0, and can be applied with a rotary, etc. 2.0 cant or not designed that way. If you have a PC (g100 porter cable polisher) then you can. Then just maintain often by a wash, and 2.0 x 2 and UQD in between to keep it looking sharp.

If your new car is a light color I think you'll be hard pressed to notice much of a difference using #7 on it. As for NXT & 21, they're almost interchangeable and you don't need to use both. A lot of people like to top a synthetic with a carnauba, so you could top either NXT or 21 with something like 26 or 16, but you certainly don't need to. In fact, a proper wash/clay/80 polish can leave a finish looking so good that any one of the above (NXT, 21, 26, 16) will give you beautiful results. It's really a personal choice.
