  • Detailer Line Dressings.......

I'm looking to find the differences between Hyper-Dressing and Water Based Dressing from the Detailer Line. HD can be diluted up to 4:1 but is almost twice the cost of WBD which can be diluted to 1:1. Most only dilute HD 1:1 from what I'm hearing.

    Sooooooo......

1st what are the differences chemically?

2nd who has used either and your experiences?

    Thanks!!!

    Re: Detailer Line Dressings.......

To start, you should never compare costs of products in their concentrated forms, because product dilutions are not all the same. If you are price shopping, always do a comparison based on actual diluted costs.

Hyper Dressing is an outside the box type of product. The detailer industry is not accustomed to a WBD that can be diluted up to 4:1, so this was a way to bring a new idea to the market.
    Approx MSRP is $ 40.00

    Diluted costs....
    1:1 $20.00 / gal - very high gloss
    2:1 $13.33 / gal - high gloss
    3:1 $10.00 / gal - medium gloss
    4:1 $8.00 / gal - low to medium gloss

Water Based Dressing - This is a standard water based dressing that
the detail industry is very accustomed to as far as gloss and dilution goes. It is dilutable up to 1:1.

    Approx MSRP $18.00

    Diluted costs

    1:1 $9.00 / gal low - medium gloss

If you look at what you get in gloss and diluted costs, they are very similar...

Overall, the Hyper Dressing is a more versatile product, but can also be outside the box thinking for a standard WBD type of product as stated earlier.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks SO much Mike. That was an awesome break down that anyone should look at.

So which would you recommend for a mobile detailer?

          I guess but I'm not 100% sure

          WBD = Water Based Dressing

Probably going to laugh at me but I use #40 straight up on int. & tires . Myself and customers have been happy . Seem to work well on tire and depending on conditions seems to hold up pretty well.

I'll have to look into what you all are talking about. I need to place an order soon anyway.

#40 is popular as well, I think it is the only dressing in the Professional Line now.

                        the ol' reckless driving.

My sister called me at 0800 after night shift and asked me to take care of a speeding ticket she got by CHP, I said, you can take care of it. Pay the fines and go to traffic school and SLOW DOWN!!

                        LOL.

Note to the Mikes and Tim.

                        Sorry for drifting off subject.
