  • #83 / #80 then NXT?

I'm going to detail my car in a few weeks but I'm wondering about which products to use. I am going to wash and clay then use #83 or #80 depending on the paint toughness. But I was wondering whether to use DC step 2 polish afterwards or to just go straight to NXT wax?

Would the Step 2 improve the finish / colour depth any more than not applying it with this combination?

    Hello bobspunto,

Both the 80 Speed Glaze and 83 DACP have polishing oils in the compound. Also, the NXT Generation Tech Wax has polishing oils that will deepen the gloss on your paint. IOW, you do not need to do the DC step 2 Polish, you can go straight to the NXT Wax because the compound you are using and the wax you are finishing with will provide you with the polishing oils.

One thing of note. On occasion applying a polish/glaze prior to the NXT Generation Tech Wax may produce a better shine. This is not always the case so you might want to try a section on your hood and compare the results.

      Thanks Jason!

I will try it on the hood or bonnet as we call it and split it down the middle to see if there is any difference in paint richness and depth.
