its 1 better....
but seriously, they are both polymer based waxes, however the #21 is a more like the Nxt Polymer formula, just designed for machine instead of hand use like Nxt. It wont gum up like Nxt can at times.2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue

Is #20 used for hand application or is it also like #21 and just for machine application?? Also, these are very new to me and when would you want to use them and also where do they fall in terms of your protection line up?? What I mean is it applied before suc products as the #26 High-Tech yellow wax, or can it be applied afterwards because of durability?? i guess I just need a 101 class on the two products here and how to use them if anyone might have the time. Thanks,

In my opinion, #21 is a bit better of a polymer wax than #20. Both are for DA's,(though can be used by hand), and are designed to spread out a bit easier than Nxt would. Nothing drasticaly different between them.
They would probably be the base coat for most people, with some sort of carnuba over top for looks, like #26, #16, or maybe Gold Class.2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue

Thanks for the response MURR. Can you tell me basically what the main purpose of the two items are and how they help your vehicle and the finish?? I guess I am just not sure as to what the purpose of applying them would be for.

I use #21 as the final protective coat. I wash, clay, polish and then put on the final protective coat (#21). I prefer #21 over NXT as I find #21 seems to last longer. I apply and remove #21 using the G100.-Bob

So pretty much either #21 or #20 can be used in place of your everday wax like #26, etc.? Am I understanding this correct? So I still wonder why would not everyone use these items if they are in a sense much better and add more protection?Trent W.

Hmm.. not entirely sure what you mean.
They are both just pure waxes. They are polymer waxes like Nxt, as opposed to blended carnuba like Gold Class, DC#3, #26. #20 was out for a while now, and is a older polymer design. #21 came out based on the Nxt wax, but for machine application, as Nxt can gum up a little sometimes from machines.
Wash
Clay
Clean
Polish
Wax - This is where you would use #20, or #21. (or any of the other waxes). 2 thin coats for best look and coverage.
I think the polymer waxes give a little more of a 'glossy look', and pull out metalic flakes a bit. The carnuba waxes seem to give a little deeper color, maybe a 'rich' look is the word for it. And I think the polymer waxes tend to be a bit more durable.
If you are looking for a machine applied wax, I'd start with #21, espeacially if you like the look of Nxt Wax.2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue

I do believe you have just made things clear for me and I thank you for that!! One question though as I do not have a good machine to use for polishing; am I still able to apply #21 using hand application? I do believe you had said it is possible earlier but thought I would ask again.

Sure. I belive it is a slightly more watery consitency compared to Nxt liquid, so it spreads easier with a machine. Just slightly though.
You will probably want to look into some sort of spout, or smaller dispensing bottles (or both) to help, as you wont be able to apply it to you pad easily from the big bottle.2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue

You can buy a 12 oz sample size of #21 at the url below. The 12 oz bottle should do a number of cars.
Look in the Meguiars Paint Protection section. You can order the 64 oz or the 12 oz sample size.-Bob

Below I have reposted what I wrote earlier in this thread on page 5, which should answer your questions. I color coded it red for you.
- * Meguiar’s new paint sealant will be available in a 64 ounce container with a suggested retail price of $40.00
* Meguiar’s new paint sealant can be applied by hand, dual action polisher, orbital polisher and rotary buffer.
* Meguiar’s new paint sealant needs to dry before being removed; this will take approximately 10 to 15 minutes in most climates. This may take longer in colder, more humid climates, and faster in drier, warmer climates. Meguiar’s recommends the The Swipe Test to determine when a wax or paint sealant is ready to remove.
* Meguiar’s new paint sealant is V.O.C. compliant under new E.P.A. regulations for California starting in 2005
* Meguiar’s new paint sealant Does contain some light cleaning ability. Not as much as #20 Polymer Sealant, which offers cleaning action.
* Meguiar’s new paint sealant Wipes on and wipes off easy when applied using thin coats and allowed to dry for the appropriate amount of time.
* Meguiar’s new paint sealant does not need to be heated in order to apply it and/or to make it bond.
* Meguiar’s new paint sealant does not require any special pre-surface prep product that is specific to Meguiar’s new paint sealant, (as part of a system).
* Meguiar’s new paint sealant is not a one-step cleaner/wax product and is intended to be used on surfaces that are new, like new or have been pre-cleaned and polished using any Meguiar’s compound, paint cleaner, cleaner/polish and or pure polish.
* Meguiar’s new paint sealant is formulated to be used with a rotary buffer in production type environments and is a much wetter product than the NXT Generation Tech Wax and as such offer more play time on the surface while being buffed. (Note: NXT Tech Wax is not formulated for use with a rotary buffer).
* Meguiar’s new paint sealant contains no Carnauba wax or any natural ingredient as far as the protection value is concerned. NXT Generation Tech Wax is still Meguiar’s best protecting product.
* Meguiar’s new paint sealant is the result of customer demand in the professional segment of our market. A majority of Meguiar’s top accounts that distribute Meguiar’s Professional Line are ordering NXT Tech Wax out of our Consumer Line to distribute into the professional segment of the market, (The professional detailing industry and the new and used car dealerships). To meet this new and strong demand for a Meguiar’s synthetic paint sealant Meguiar’s is now introducing a new product specifically formulated for this market and their unique needs through our professional distribution channels.
* Meguiar’s new paint sealant should be available to purchase online and through PBE (Paint, Body, and Equipment) stores in mid-January 2005
* Meguiar’s new paint sealant will offer the fine swirl elimination characteristics that NXT Generation Tech Wax offers, however, when used with a rotary buffer, it will offer much more due to the pad working for you as well.
* Meguiar’s new paint sealant should be removed from any exterior trim to prevent staining.
* Meguiar’s new paint sealant does not use any ingredients that offer cationic action like the Medallion Premium Paint Protectant.
* Meguiar’s new paint sealant will not replace M20 Polymer Sealant. M20 will still be manufactured and available as it is a very popular wax with professionals.
* Meguiar’s new paint sealant and layering – Whether Meguiar’s new paint sealant can be layered or not depends on which definition of the word layer you subscribe to.
