  • Will any wheel cleaner strip paint?

Will any wheel cleaner (consumer, professional, other brands) strip paint? I bought some aluminum alloy rims (2002-2004 RSX-S rims) and there was curbage. I bondo'ed them and spray painted the affected areas. The paint brand was Plasti-Kote.

I would think that until the paint is fully cured, some wheel cleaners may be to harsh. I would probably go with a apc @10:1 for a couple of months till the paint is fully cured.

The rims look great. Good work.

I would try it on a area that it's not noticeable first and be sure.

Just remember don't let the wheel cleaner dry of leave it too much time because this could cause damage on any rim

          Dragonballz,

Can you please post a picture of the area that you fixed?

I'm looking into repairing some wheels on family member cars and am curious as to just how good a repair like that can look.
