    Re: NXT 2.0 versus Carnuba

DC2 since I would have used either clay bar or pre-wax cleaner already.

    So to rephrase the question:
Can you put NXT 2.0 on the vehicle after using DC Polish? I want to make sure there is no issue with bonding

Which product is Meg's waxes/sealants offer top durability ?

IMO, not sure about NXT2.0, but NXT1.0's durability has nothing to shout about.

Lack of durability was a complaint about NXT 1.0 and was one reason why it was replaced by 2.0.

NXT 2.0, M21 2.0, and M20 are considered to be the most durable of Meguiar's waxes that are sold in the U.S. M16, which must be smuggled in from Canada by secret courier, is also judged to be quite durable.

I believe that the consensual judgment is that DC3 and M26 are not as durable as, say, NXT or M20.

How important is durability to you? How long do you anticipate going before you apply a fresh coat of wax? Many people on MOL, for example, will wax their cars on the average of once a month, not because the wax has ceased protecting but because they want to keep their vehicles looking as good as they can. Along the same vein, many of us prefer carnauba waxes, even though we know they are not as durable as synthetic sealants: we prefer them because we prefer the carnauba "look" over the sealant "look." Durability is simple one of several considerations that go into choosing a protectant.

Durability is a priority as mine is a daily driver. However, I am willing to sacrifice some durability for looks.

Like a durable carnauba, instead of a lasting sealant. Looks good and it lasts... Eg. Zaino, Collinite 845. IMO, closest I can get is M26.

Given that you have a daily driver, you might consider employing the M20/M26 combo. M20 Polymer Sealant is a light cleaner wax that delivers durable protection. M26 will give you a deep carnauba look.

I hope this is similar to ColorX/M26 combo

Give it a try and let us know what you think!

M20 ranks between Cleaner Wax (consumer version) and ColorX in terms of cleaning power. A couple of our experienced members really love it. Kevin Brown, e.g., speaks very highly of it:

                      • It leaves great gloss & clarity
                      • Low-impact paint-cleaners work well, but won't mar a finely polished finish.
                      • Wipe-off is incredibly easy
                      • Durability is rock-solid
                      • The best product to use for larger vehicles, such as boats, RV's, & trailers
                      • Price is not 'out of this world' expensive'
                      • Availability is very good.
I believe that moderator Mark Kleiss uses it regularly as his wax base coat. If you do a search through the archives, you'll find that the M20/M26 combo is fairly popular.
