  • NXTtechwax sealant or wax ?

Can someone clear this up for once and for all ?
In my opinion NXT is a sealant because it is a synthetic wax therefore it is a sealant.

Some people on other detailingforums over here in Europe are making alot off fuss on this subject !
I really don't know why because a sealant is a wax, just that it is made of synthetic based materials instead of natural ingredients !

Correct me if i'm wrong please ?

The fact that Meguiars calls it NXTtechwax instead of NXTtechsealant seems confusing to some people !

Check out this thread: Is it a wax? Or a paint sealant?

You are 100% correct, and the quote in bold in above sums it up very nicely. Yes, we use the word "wax" because calling it anything else would ultimately confuse the average consumer who is shopping for a wax. But this really shouldn't confuse folks frequenting a detailing forum as forum members are usually among the sharpest consumers out there.

Unfortunately there aren't any really hard and fast rules for terminology usage in this business - Zaino calls their sealant a polish, yet everyone seems to do OK understanding proper use of their product. Turtle Wax refers to ICE as both a polish and a wax in the same paragraph on their website and, again, people seem to be able to figure that out.
