Is it true that paste wax have better SHELF LIFE than liquid wax?

    Re: Better shelf life

Well, it doesn't separate. People have tins of M16 that are 10+ years old, won't be finding many usable liquids from that era. Most separate over a period of time. There are some waxes from way back in the day that Megs folks still use, but I have seen some waxes separate (Megs and non-Megs) over a few years. I think there is a thread where Mike Phillips used some really old cleaner wax in the glass jar. Again, these are broad statements, just from personal experience.

One way to lengthen the life would be to shake them up every few weeks to keep everything well mixed...which reminds me...I need to go shake some product!

I like paste because it's in a solid form and isn't prone to seperate as easily as the liquid would, and I feel you get more applications out of it. Of course, if the product be paste or liquid and isn't stored in ideal tempertures, then it wouldn't matter and go bad anyway. As far as liquid products go, I tend to give them a good shake every few weeks to help keep them from seperating.

Just speculating here. I guess in shelf life. Paste would probably be a better bet. Like others have mentioned it does not separate. On the few occasions That there has been trouble the double boiler method has brought the product back to life.

As for Meguiar's products go, both paste and liquid wax should have 3-4 years of shelf life. As mentioned above, if the product smells good, is not watery, and has not separated, it is probably safe to say that you can still use it.

Is there anyways to prolong the lives of these waxes. For example, for liquid waxes, to shake them at least once a month.

Wish I would have read this before I drank that milk last week! Same rule applies.

The best advice I can give you is to keep the products away from extreme heat and extreme cold. Product will desperate over time, not necessarily meaning they have gone bad, but shaking them every now and then will also help.
