NXT2 or UW - Which one for black car?

Hi all

I have been using NXT 1.0 (!) on a deep blue RSX and it made my paint "pop" in such an amazing way. It looked like it was dripping wet, very "plasticky" in look. And I loved it. I sold that car recently and I now have a black infiniti but ran out of NXT 1.0 before I could try on on the new black car.

I was trying to reproduce the same effect on my new car. Someone got me a jar of AutoGlym HD Wax and while it looks real nice, it does not make the paint "pop" as I was hoping.

So back to Meguiar's. But now there is NXT 2.0 and UW.

My question is which one of these two will give me the most dripping wet, "plasticky" in look of yore? Assume decent prep, etc... will precede its application...

I personally would go with Ultimate Wax. It lasts longer than NxT Tech Wax 2.0 (in the same condition) and it's Meguiar's newest product in protection department.

I used it couple months ago on my car (dark metallic pint) and it's there as I washed the vehicle this morning:

Hmm that's a tough one.

UW is well suited to black cars because it darkens the paint more than NXT. However, IMO NXT has more of that "plasticy" sealant type look.

As with any wax, the looks are subjective and personal preference. Perhaps you should try both?

In my experience, UW works better on darker colored cars while NXT 2.0 works better on lighter or metallic colored cars. Since you have a black car, I would go with UW. It darkens the paint and the gloss/shine is just unbelievable. Please post pictures when you're done!

I recently used UW on my wife's black car it looks amazing. SO black and glossy! I prefer it to NXT.

But if you want the thicker "plasticky" look then NXT is the way to go. But I urge you to give UW a go.

I might have to try both but budget is limited, sadly. I have to make a decision. I used the NTX on a dark blue RSX and it looked the way I like it. I might have to try first the NTX since I know it works.... Oh, decision... I'll try to post pictures later but I don't plan to do any waxing until next weekend. Cheers!

There is no better wax for a black than UW.
It looks as though my paint is wet, it's that shiny.
After using UW I then use UD, makes it really pop.

Metalic Gold SS paint job...see profile pic.

UW or NXT and why?

Car was painted end of May of this year..

Paint job is holding up.. which of the two would give a slicker more clear coat type of shine? If that's possible.

^^ I would suggest NXT 2.0 because it's a lighter metallic color.

Tried it and all I can say is NXT 2.0 goes on like butter and off like butter also.

Totally different feel than the Deep Crystal Carnuaba .

Glad I bought this...
