  • nxt 2.0 liquid wax

Hey guys... i've recently purchased NXT 2.0 liquid wax... washed the car, clayed, and applied the wax. I should mention that i've only started waxing the car recently.... anyways paint was clean... car looked great.

last weekend i drove about a 100 miles in the rain... next morning i noticed a whole lot of white calcium like spots on my paint... they come off when touched with a finger, but they're not like usual water spots as they're not as grey... and plenty of em on my windows (which i didnt wax)

is this normal on a waxed car or do i somehow not wipe it off properly? too much wax on the paint?

I would suspect something splashing from the road.

While it's common for people to apply waaaaaay too much wax, the situation you're seeing won't be caused by doing so. Apply wax too heavy just makes it take longer to dry, and it's harder to wipe off the residue. If you're getting some sort of deposits on areas of the car where you didn't even wax - in this case the windows - then it's definitely not caused by the wax. There's no telling what sort of minerals may have been in the rain water, or kicked up from the roads you were driving on. Just be thankful that whatever the heck it is comes off easily - we highly recommend washing the car sooner rather than later, though. Allowing any sort of deposits/minerals that were left behind by water can lead to a worse situation with time. In the most extreme case, like when reclaimed water is used in sprinkler systems, the minerals left behind can etch deeply into the paint and become extremely difficult to remove, even using very aggressive methods.

Sounds like you left some wax on.

Could just be water spots with a slightly different mineral composition than you're used to.
