Are there any Meguiar's Online forum members planning on going to this year's Barrett-Jackson auction Scottsdale, Arizona?

The auction technically starts January 14th and runs through till the 22nd, however the meat of the auction as far as it relates to the significant cars going across the blocks starts Friday, January 21st through Sunday January 22nd.

I'm going to be there Friday morning working with the MIB through Sunday, I was thinking that if any of our members were going that it would be fun to meet and put a face to an Avatar.

Every year I say I am going but never seem to make it out there.

I guess I have to settle for watching it on TV and lookng for the cars with swirl marks.

That's what Meguiar's employees are referred to over seas as our dress code is black slacks, black shoes and a black Meguiar's shirt, the the Men In Black reference.

One of these years I'm going to go, but being broke puts a dampener on the fun I think...
We do like to go hangout at the Pavilions on Saturdays, it's the largest ongoing open car show in the US. Expect to see over 450 cars there on most Saturdays. and it's free with no vendors...

I'm looking to go next year or the year after to buy a car. There just isn't the quality of cars around here that I want to buy. I've wanted a 65-70 Mustang fastback for years and the right one hasn't come along. (I know, three body styles, I like them all) This is going to be my reward to myself for my business doing so well. My only problem with buying from B-J is the price, some of those cars go for just insane prices.....although it is cheaper than buying a project and retoring it.

For the people who have gone- are the prices really that high all the time or do they just show the best of the best on TV?

I'm gonna be there, we have 3 cars in the auction. I'll stop by and say hi. Is Jose Torres going to be there with the truck again? He was really cool last year.

Mike, if your here that Saturday night you have to go check out the weekly car show at the Scottsdale Pavillions. The 101 is the freeway which West world is located just off of. Just a few miles from West World up the 101 at Indian Bend, exit and go west a block and you can't miss it by the McDonalds. This show happens every saturday night, but Barret Jackson weekend always brings a HUGE crowd. A certain Scottsdale resident has been known to bring his latest toys to the show on this weekend. I've seen pictures of his McClaren F1 there and rumor has it he now has a Pagani Zonda (for off road use only of course ).

Yep I remember you. We have a 64 Corvette convertible which I will be doing a final buff on this week hopefully before it has to go out. It was recently repainted and they didn't fully finish it, but for what we paid for the paint job they did a nice job. It's nothing overly original or anything, but a real nice driver. The other two cars we actually have in there for friends. One is a 69 RS Camaro which is pretty nice and the other is an older Ford Unibody truck with a 390 Big Block in it, and I can't remember the year of it for the life of me right now.

I'm not sure if I'm going for sure, but I specifically took that night off work. I am going to try and at least go by and see it. I guarantee you as soon as Barret spools down for the evening there will be tons of people there, really your probably better off parking across the street and walking to it, it's insane that weekend.
