On the job viewing ??

Reality is... lots of people surf the web and participate on public discussion forums like this one while they are working at their regular job.

In some cases it's probably okay with their boss and in many cases it's probably against the company rules and at some level they are cheating their employer because instead of exchanging their work for their pay, they're spending non-work related time doing their own thing on the Internet.

This topic might make for an interesting poll. (Hint hint )

Interesting question posed earlier today by GSKtech... do you visit MOL while you are working your 9-5 (or whatever shift) job ?... currently, I am on my lunch hour ... but obviously the time on the board is wrong because it says 7:46 PM tonight...

Since I retired in May, my time is my own. I must confess though that I did do a little "surfing" through this site and other auto sites of interest while on the job. It never interfered with my job duties. (I know, we are all going to say that!!)

You better believe I check out MOL when I am at work because that is really the only time I am on the computer. I rarely get on my computer at home because I would rather be doing other things with my family or walking, etc.

I can't get on MOL. Because where I work at they really don't go for that. But when I'm at home or over my girlfriends sister's house's I usually get on then.

Every once in a while....Some nights I do the closing shift at a gym (5-10:00) so sometimes when it's late at night and there aren't many people there I will go to MOL. I don't sign onto my user name though, I just browse.

Actually, I can only visit MOL when I'm at home. When I have my g/f laptop with me at work, I will use the store's DSL to surf the net when it's slow. But I mainly visit MOL when at home.

If I'm working from home, then yes. If I'm working from the office, then no, because our corporate folks monitor this sort of thing very carefully. But I'm not in the office all that much anyway, and when I am I'm too busy to log on anyway.

Mostly though I'm on in the evenings with my laptop running through our wireless network at home (like right now) while hanging out with the wife and pooch.

I am really fortunate, here at work. If we don't abuse it, we can surf when the workload allows it.
