Does this happen to everyone?

Once you get started reading threads on here do you look at every car you walk past and get the sun just right to check for swirls and water spots? Or is that just me?

guilty, also do u put other peoples car down becuase its nowhere near the perfection of yours? guilty too its a wierd thing once u get the bug ur stuck with it...lol

I am guilty of checking in sunlight, moonlight and I have shown my wife and my clients what to look for and they all admit that they check out vehicles all the time, even stuck in traffic and at stop lights. One of my clients went so far as to start a conversation in stopped traffic with the vehicle next to her and now I have a new client. I do reward clients when they refer someone to me and this new person has their vehicle done by me. I like to inform/teach and show clients what they are paying for and it does pay off in the long run.

I find myself noticing how bad the paint is sometimes before I even know what make/model I'm looking at - I guess when the swirls are that bad it sort of overrides brand and style, ya know?

Driving down the 405 frwy after work the sun is just at the right position to see all the swirls on nice looking black cars. I'm just itching to get the DA on it. So yes, I catch myself doing that a little too much.

Absolutely! I keep telling myself (and others) that I'm not the only one. And yes also, my girl looks too,,,,,,but I can tell she thinks I over-do it. Since I've have black trucks (and they are new too) I've been a crazy fanatic and sometimes I drive myself crazy. Does Meguiars carry tranqualizers?

Yep its a problem! From time to time I wish I have a camera to show how bad some of the vehicles I see need attention.

I walk pass and see the swirls/dirt then try to work out what products can be used and how much time it would take to do it......then try to imagine what it looks like cleaned, polished and waxed.

I started noticing swirls, etc after I started hanging out here. When I got my G100 and did my wife's minivan, I pointed out the swirls on the van and then showed her my progress. Now, she notices swirls when walking through parking lots. Sometimes she comments on how much better if I would work on them like I did her van.

and just think for 2 or 3 hour and $75 bucks it could look like yours
