  • Installing side molding

I am going to help a friend install the side molding on his vehicle. I actually did both of mine and they came out fine, but I have a question that maybe you can assist with.

The side molding comes with some wipes that probably have alcohol on them. These wipes are to be used to prep the paint before adhering the glue included and the self stick tape. Would I be better off using a cleaner such as DC1 or 82 in order to prep the paint?

I don't think it would be a bad idea at all to use a decent paint cleaner first, something in the "body shop safe" range, and then follow with the alcohol wipes. That should ensure a really nice base for adhesion of the glue/tape.
