problem with pictures on forum

Well basically on some threads I read I'm getting a red X in a white box where the picture would be. I'm pretty sure everyone else can see the pictures but I have no clue what the picture is. Some pictures show in some post and others do not. I'm not great with computer stuff but was wondering if its my setting or something, I have IE 6 and windows XP if that helps out all. I'm hoping I can fix the problem.


It use to be way back a couple years ago that i could just right click on the x and click show picture, but now it doesn't give me that option.

Is this on new threads or older threads?

On older threads it can be because of people using picture-hositing sites, and then the photos expiring on those sites.

When you come across a broken image, right click on the image and select "Properties"

This will give you the URL address of the image.

Sometimes the problem is on our side, but often times the problem is because the person that posted the picture did so using a photo they are hosting or "storing" on a free picture hosting website.

Then, days, weeks, months, years later they decide to delete the image on the free photo hosting site to make room for new pictures.

Then, wherever they posted the URL Address to the photos they deleted, instead of the photo showing up you'll usually get a Red X

My work also blocks a lot of image hosting sites....so if you’re at work that is another possibility.

no just my home computer
