  • Does anyone else hate this?

So I decided to washed up my ride last night and wanted to go over her with some ColorX since I had my windows tinted a while back and had notice some very fine scratches under certain lighting that I wanted to remove. I then went back over it with some NXT 2.0, Hyper dressed the tires, did the windows, a quick vacuum, and some GC on the leather seats. Maybe 2-3 hrs of work....looked great!

So this morning I'm enjoying my ride to work in my freshly waxed and spotless car. So maybe 5 minutes into the commute a garbage truck coming from the other direction went by and even though I had moved over a little to hug the right side the truck spewed a clear watery liquid all over the front and side of my car!!!

    This drives me nuts!!!

Guess I will be washing again ater work today...

    End rant.

Garbage truck water is almost as bad as "subway spit". The big difference is that garbage truck water hits your car but subway spit usually lands smack on the top of your head, nose or (with some really bad luck) in your mouth.

Also, the origins of the liquids which constitute subway spit are NEVER known. I'll let your imagination do the wondering of where it could possibly come from.

It's times like this that having a bottle of some sort of mist & wipe product and a microfiber towel or three in the trunk comes in real handy.

That's actually kind of funny as it is kind of true...

Around here it seems like right after you wash your car there's always certain areas where there's always water running across a residential road or accumulating in a business parking lot and in both situations there's little or no way to avoid driving through it and getting splatter on your lower fender panels and wheels...

                        Ugh....

About 19 years ago I spent the whole day doing the DC1, 2, 3 on my dark brown sable Buick by hand. I busted my behind on that one. My wife decided it was time to go to K-mart and I made sure I parked far from any cars. I took one last look at the car as I entered the store and thought "WOW, I have the best looking shine in the lot!" We went in for about an hour and shopped. When we came out, a flock of seagulls had dumped on every horizontal panel and window. The car was a complete mess! I was so ticked off and went home and had to rewash the car. My wife thought it was very funny but of course I didn't. I now use the reverse psychology approach!

And for some reason people don't like it when you try to go real slow to lessen the damage.......
