        No not at all LOL! You will not be happy with full auto mode. Use P mode if you want some automation, which is a good way to start. Full auto mode normally won't set the ISO below 400, which can result in overexposed images especially if you are using flash. Plus the auto mode will not let you use any flash exposure compensation.

        One other thing that nobody mentioned. You cannot use Live View mode when using the full auto mode.

        Enjoy, it's a great camera!

        Now you can start accumulating lenses and flashes!
