This new tired design came up recently in another thread here,

Sure like the idea... no flat tires...

Might seem strange today but you never know, we might start seeing these on cars in the future...

Wonder if they're lighter or heavier than a similar size and type of tire as it might relate to better gas mileage?

I would think they would be noisy.

With the wind going through them, kinda like a fan going the same speed as your car.

From what I remember they would put a sidewall on, but decided not to in the photoshoot for demonstration purposes.

No doubt. Without a sidewall cover, the vehicle looks like a off-track rail car. Certainly Michelin understands the lack of aesthetic appeal these tires would have and cover them up.
