  • Aboslutely hate Rick @ ADS!!

Because he keeps sending me stuff like this...

And of course this means more weekends spent detailing my Corvette and all my customers cars then out on the road actually enjoying it!

Is that the Flex DA or Rotary?

Which DA were you using before it, if any (if it's a DA). I have really been thinking of biting the bullet for the Flex (G110 right now).

It's the Flex VRG-3401 Dual-Action Polisher....with the handle from the VRG-3403 Rotary Polisher. The handle comes in clutch when doing large horizontal surfaces like hood/roof/trunk lid while the standard bail handle is great for directing the path of the head of the unit on vertical panels. Supposedly you can't order the side handles for the 3401 any more but, as always, Rick came through...

I had both the G110 and the PC-7424 but recently sold the G110 so I'm staying with the PC (super versatile) and the Flex (correction beast).

Have you used the orange pads yet? I'm curious how you like them compared to the Meg's pads and how much cut they have compared as well.

I have used the LC CCS Orange pads on both the G110 and the PC-7424 and find the cut of the pad to be just below Meg's Burgundy Cutting pad and substantially more aggressive then the polishing pad. Also remember the size disparity Meg's pads give up to the competition. A 4" LC CCS Orange pad with the same compound will remove more defects than a 7" Meg's Burgundy pad used with a DA because physics allows the smaller pad to rotate faster and withstand more pressure before bogging down.

So how did you get the side handle with the order? Did you just request it when you placed it?

I used to use the side handle for my PC all the time, but then I saw a youtube vid of a Meguiar's class where they said it was better without the side handle. They were right. I've been using my PC without the side handle since and when I got the Flex, I did the same thing. Still, the handle looks cool.
Too much of a good thing is even better!

Emailed Rick prior to my order and confirmed he could still get it...then just placed a comment in the box at the bottom of the order screen. Rick took care of it from there and added the purchase to the order.

You had my attention at your title. Could not believe someone was unhappy with the service from Rick at ads.

Indeed. I could have placed my big order through my local PBE shop and had my supplies within a day or two, for slightly less money, but the outstanding customer service provided by Rick in addition to his prompt replies to my questions keeps my business with him . Go Rick!
