So, tell us what got you hooked on Meguiar's? For me, I had been using a couple of different waxes and wasn't really happy with them, so I decided to try the all new Turtle Wax Ice Liquid Polish and Liquid Claybar. That was a big mistake. $30 down the drain with nothing to show for it. I got the stuff home, used it, and was like, "Great, you can use it on exterior plastic and chrome and stuff, but it doesn't make my car look any better. Now what?" So it was back to Wally World to see what else I could find. I happened to come across NXT Tech Wax 2.0. I hadn't really used anything of Meg's in the past except some old Cleaner Wax paste my dad had sitting around from way back when. I think it was pretty old, because I had a time with it. I used it once, and eventually wound up throwing it away because it wasn't any good. So anyway, I see this NXT 2.0 in this shiny packaging, and I says to myself, "$15? That's what I paid for the Turtle Wax stuff and I wasn't impressed with that. I don't want to waste my money again." Maybe it was the shiny bottle that attracted me, I don't know. But I bought it, took it home, used it, and the results blew me away. Bye bye Turtle Wax, hello Meguiar's! The rest is history. So what's your story?

Re: What got you hooked on Meguiar's?
I was at an auto store in New Jersey. I had just bought Mother's pre-wax cleaner/glaze/wax combo. A customer in line suggested to me to try Meguiar's products next time. I remembered that. A year and a half later, for reasons I cannot recollect, I did an internet search for Meguiar's and discovered MOL. I started reading the various threads. MOL, and especially the wisdom and expertise of Mike Phillips, got me hooked on Meguiar's products.

Re: What got you hooked on Meguiar's?
I started using Meguiars products on my Silverado in 2007. The first two products I purchased were Gold Class Shampoo and Quik Detailer I believe. Eventually one thing led to another and here I am now using all sorts of Meguiars products and then eventually finding MOL. I wished I joined sooner and didnt lurk forever.Nick

Re: What got you hooked on Meguiar's?
Well with me it was a mix of stubling across the products in stores and liking them more than the other things I had used.
However, what really got me hooked what Rasky! I was on 8thcivic for a while and kept seeing all of the amazing work he did to cars and I wanted to learn how to do that myself! Eventually I saw him post a link to here and started lurking around for awhile. Eventually I joined and met Nick Chapman who was so nice to a noob like me and let me come down a few times and has helped to teach me so much. Now im so addicted to this and Meguiar's

Re: What got you hooked on Meguiar's?
I came across MOL through the free monthly giveaways that happened through most of 2007. All you had to do was post a reply to a thread to be entered into the monthly drawing. Winner got a PC kit and 2nd and 3rd even got some nice stuff.
As far as a product that hooked me it was Meguiar's Cleaner Wax. I always washed my car and took pretty good care of it, but Cleaner wax was the first thing I ever took to it and it just went on and off with ease. Even without any prep it looked tons better."Difficult takes a day, impossible takes a week." Jay-Z

Re: What got you hooked on Meguiar's?
I have been using Megs for sometime. I can't remember when but I know it has been over 17 years. I thought I knew how to "detail" cars and always was working on my car or truck. I was not happy with using Turtle Wax because it did not seem to work very well. I started using Megs and found it worked pretty well. Then I found this website and I am HOOKED on MEGS. I still use some other brands for interior, but I am slowly seeing I like Megs interior stuff just as well, and it costs the same. Thanks to Mike Phillips if you see this thread!!!Sleepy

Re: What got you hooked on Meguiar's?
Well, for me,it started about 8 years ago. Before that I used AutoGlym. The place where I bought my car care products had ran out that day and they had the Meguiar's DC set.So I gave it a go,and was happy with the results.Ever since then,I've always used Meg's and only use something else if I can't get a Meg's product.

Re: What got you hooked on Meguiar's?
I was originally using a few other brands and realized I was working too hard for too little. Found this forum, and now I've got a cabinet full of bottles with M#'s marked on them. Something extraterrestrial would have to happen to get me to change to something else now. Just tried the Gold Class Trim Detailer this week and will never use anything else, unless it's Hyper Dressing or M40!
Speaking of GC Trim Detailer, what are you guys using as an applicator to apply without getting it on the adjacent glass, paint, etc. I fold a little piece of cotton rag after "priming" it with GCTD. Still I end up getting a little where I don't want it.
Hey, it's a glorious, sunny day here in Tampa Bay! How 'bout all you fellow shine addicts all over the world? (didn't mean to hijack this tread)

Re: What got you hooked on Meguiar's?
The mother of friend of mine suggested me to use Deep Crystal Car Wash. It is quite expensive in my country. For example DC Carwash is 15 $ here for 64 oz / 1.89 ml, a KIT pouch shampoo is only 7 cents for 800 ml.. Then I tried t obuy one and wash my car. The result is WOW!! the suds is nice, smells good, and won't streak.. The result is great with a better shine on my car, sleek surface too...
It was the first Meguiar's product that I bought which leads to Quik Wax, Quik Detailer, Gold class Wax, NXT Shampoo and so on and on... until now..
Each product brings WOW!! experience, that's why I use and buy more products from Meguiar's."Does it come in black?" Bruce Wayne / Batman Begins

Re: What got you hooked on Meguiar's?
Watching the speed channel I kept seeing ads for Meguiar's and then the show Car Crazy really got me. And when I bought my Mustang in '06 I wanted it to always look like the cars on that show so I was in from there. Half of my laundry room is stocked with Meguiar's. I have to hide some of it so my husband doesn't think I'm nuts. He thinks I'm obsessed.

Re: What got you hooked on Meguiar's?
My grandfather used every wax under the sun, usually once and then is sat on the self in the garage until it seperated and he threw it out. He found mequiars one time and tried it then forgot about it and went on his way with the "others". I got my first car, a 1979 4dr Lincoln Towncar and tried some turtle wax that was a b-day gift and was not thrilled at all so I "borrowed" his mequiars and was amazed at how well it went on and off. With 25 feet of car to wax easy on and off is a major plus!! Been hooked ever since (12+ years) and I look like a mequiars store every time I open my trunk at a car show!! I use it on everything from mycars to bicycles, to sinks (works great on stainless steel sinks!) to my riding mowers.Having a black car is not a hobby, its a full time job!
