  • How much time did you take to complete a "Wash routine"

like the title says, i spent 45 mins on interior, 20 on the rims and 1 hour washing and drying everything and just 30 minutes for the extras (dress tyres, inspection, little details)

that makes 2 hours with 35 minutes...

This is my every sunday wash routine, not included everymonth wax will spend more time of course but, just want to know whats your time? to compare if im doing to slow, normal or to quickly

You must eat a lot of McDonald's food in your car if you spend 45 minutes per week on the interior :-). Personally I spend about 10 minutes on the interior, but I normally don't carry passengers, I don't smoke and I try not to eat in the car. I also keep a California Dash Duster in the center console and use it every few days.

I think your wash time is higher than average, you can see 2 bucket wash and dry videos done in less than 20 minutes and that's taking time to explain the process.

I think the times are going to vary. If you're doing it for a customer vs. washing your own car for enjoyment (meaning you put a little more hustle into it, when your detailing for dollars). I think it's also going to depend on how dirty the car was. How well it was detailed prior to the wash and what needs to be done after the wash.

The interior sounds a litttle long....

My wheels might take longer than yours...

I have spent a good hour on some vechiles just cleaning the wheels, tires, and wheelwells.

        It all depends.

My "wash" is wheels, tires, wheel wells, exhaust tips and then the paint. Door jambs and engine every now and then. I will take me about 2-2.5 hours just to wash my Roush. The Neon and F150 come in at about an hour. Interior isn't bad at all of any of them. I only need to clean the interior of the Mustang about twice a year, so I spend a bit more time when I do that one, but other than that, nothing crazy I suppose.

May I ask what takes you so long on the interior? It seems like a lot of time for a weekly regimen.

With my car i clean the interior alone...and it takes me about an hour to clean.

When i wash my car it ussaly takes me 35 mins from start to finsh which includes washing the rims dressing the tires and drying my car. I don't usealy wash my wheel well on my car cause it's a lowered and i got no room to fit my hand inside to wash it..lol

Full detail, wash everything like wheels and wells, engine, interior, exhaust tips, ect I run about 2-2 1/2 hours on my car but that is about once a month or every other month depending on how much my car comes out. Normal wash runs me about an hour or so every week, most of which is drying since my car is kinda big and black, not a great combo with hard water
Having a black car is not a hobby, its a full time job!

I think your time sounds pretty fair......
For the interior, if your vacuuming every thing that should get vacuumed, general cleaning/spot cleaning, dressing everything, cleaning all the windows and door jambs.... and your doing a good job, 45 minutes seems reasonable.

Now, unless your car gets really dirty for whatever reason, doing that every week seems a little excessive.

As long as you like caring for your car and you enjoy your labors......time is irrelevant in my opinion. Also, there can be pretty large difference of what "clean" means to different people.

                        Enjoy!
