  • Whitest 9145 bulbs?

    Hey guys,

I'm trying to find a set of 9145 bulbs for my fog light that will match my HID white head lights. I bought these

And even though they're called "platinum white," the actual color of the lights are not white at all. I was wondering if anyone know which maker has the whitest 9145 bulbs?

    Thanks,

    Hunter

I know next to nothing about cars when it comes to replacing or installing parts - will an HID bulb fit in a regular halogen housing without modification? And doesn't HID come with ballasts so I'd have to find a place to fit those in as well?

Yes you need ballasts & add'l wiring. Having done some conversions time, patience & experience goes a long way. HID fogs are out there but difficult to find @ a good$$$. On a CTS you may get lucky trying an Escalade HID fog light set up from the local parts recycler (junk yard for us Jersey Guys-where in NJ? I'm on the coast 700' from the H2O.)

          PIAA makes good bulbs.
Yellow-ish halogen will be better for fog lights. The yellow allows you see further.
I know how fog lights work and it doesn't make sense to install an HID kit down there.
They won't look a thing like your headlights since they are projectors. They end up looking like mad garbage and they typically age the lenses from the inside.
