A few weeks ago, I posted a thread about Desert Car Kings, a weekly one hour series about a salavge yard in Arizona that picks out and restores an American Classic in a 2-3 week timeframe for auction.
Since that time, I have come across a couple of other shows in a similar vein.
One show on Spike TV (Muscle Car: Blue Collar Buick) is strictly for gearheads. The restoration stuff is pretty advanced as the hosts, Tommy and Chris, will spend the entire season restoring a junkyard 73 Buick Century and building it into a muscle car. The detail is pretty advanced and shows the hosts tearing down the engine, rebuilding the U Joint, and plasma cutting and modifying the bumpers. Not typical skills for most of us, but fascinating to watch nonetheless.
The other show is called South Beach Classics and airs on Discovery every Thursday evening. Set in Miami, South Beach Classics follows owners Ted and Robin Vernon, who buy, sell, trade and exchange some of the most unique classic cars on the market. The show mostly focuses on the business itself as very little restoration is featured. But for anyone who appreciates classic American cars, this show is pure eye candy. The whole family will enjoy this one as well.
