i will not be taking the trim off the car so i was wondering if 2-3 layers of news paper(or should i use more layers) covering the areas around where i will be painting is enough to stop over spray from going on to the paint, i will be pretty much covering half way down the door, windows, side rear view mirrors, fenders and quarters. any other tips will be greatly appreciated.

Re: painting trim on 06 sentra with dupli color trim paint
I would tape around the area to be painted and then cover the entire car area not to be painted with plastic drop cloth. Tape it tight to the tape around the paint area. Leave nothing uncovered. Tape every seam in the plastic closed.
You sure you don't want to take the trim off? You will get a better paint job. Put it back on with the two sided trim tape. Only challenge is getting it back on straight.

I was thinking side body modeling. This is the black plastic trim just below the window?
Have you tried cleaning it with an all purpose cleaner and some plastic dressing?
You could just paint it in place but I would try to clean and dress it first. All Season Dressing works good for me but it is harder to get than others.
