Hey all, been a while, been in school and workin but, On thursday my friend posted a ad from craigslist on my facebook and I called the ad and it turns out the 62 was on its last legs and had be sold or it would end up being a pan cake, nothing wrong with it other than needing lots of money in it which i don't have but had to save her from the crusher. Matching number 390 that has been behind a barn for 20 years then bought by this guy who worked for the tow company had it sitting in the tow yard and after having a deal backfire with his dad not wanting to restore it and not able to sell it almost came down to scrapping it instead so I just had to save it. ODO says 51k miles but the heads are off and by the looks of things one push rod looked bent so a upper valve train problem probably caused it to sit for 20 years. Interior is shot but is pretty much all there and its a A/C car. Only main reason why I bought her besides it was going to be crushed mainly because I missed my 62 that I sold last year and cried over missing it so this one is taking its place to fill the hole in me since I missed my old one. It was originally corinthean white like my last one but has teal interior.

Re: Saved from the crusher, pics
Thanks, I'm going to go for a style called traditional Hot Rod, going to drop it 2 inches front and back enevtually and keep the same wheels and paint it the original corinthean white it once was and put teal blue pinstripping on it as a basic idea I have but I always change my mind as I go along, First I need to get rid of a couple cars I bought up that were mistakes to buy. I learned from them thats for sure.Alex

Wow, it seems like just yesterday you brought home the Dart and got to work on that car! Looking forward to seeing how you bring this 'Bird back.Michael Stoops

Re: Saved from the crusher, pics
I know right time flies, I've owned my 72 for a little over a year now and she looks great. Turn the key and go where ever you want status, body is still wavey and needs paint to be perfect but me being bored one day buffed out the entire car and repainted the hood flat black with the top of the fenders to copy the Duster 340 wedge and looks fantastice! for 40 year old paint and leaving it be for now till I'm done with school. But the TBird will be stripped in two weeks. Motor is being yanked this saturday. I'll post a pic of the wheels that my buddy spent 10 min on with some wheel acid wash but they are not finished yet.Alex

Still need to take the tires off to fully clean them and also get into the wires with a tooth brush and scrub them a bit more. I was just to curious if they would shine up.
Before acid wheel wash
After but on the passenger side in the sun to show the shine This wheel was just as bad as the driver side one was.
