    Did the forum get hacked?

    I've noticed there's been a lot of weird threads being posted. Some are like advertisement and others are videos.

    Yeah, I've noticed the same thing.

    For some reason, this forum seems to get targeted more than any other I belong to. Shame really...

    Oh well, I just keep reporting the posts - must be keeping the mods busy!

      Same here, plus I've noticed the forum has been incredibly slow for a couple of months.

          Hacked? Absolutely not. These are just people who can't get real jobs so they spam forums. It comes in waves though and it appears that we are currently on the crest of one of those waves. What you guys don't see is the number of spammers we catch before they ever have a chance to post in the first place. If you see any suspicious posts in the future, please continue to report them, as Davey has, by simply clicking the little triangle with the ! inside it. That is part of the forum software designed just for this purpose. Just how pervasive is this act of spamming forums? Well, there are websites in place that help forum admins spot spammers, report them, and even block emails and IP addresses before a spammer even visits a given forum. Even so, for as often as I update our own database with this information, spammers still get through.

          Now, as for the forum being slow, believe me, we are well aware of it and are just as frustrated by it as you are. But we have a major announcement coming in the next week or so regarding this, so a remedy is close! In the meantime, we really do appreciate your patience with the slow page loads, and your diligence with the spammers.
