  • Reduce Steering Wheel Slip

My steering wheel is made of vinyl I believe and has a very a very slippery feel to it. Making it hard at times to steer. Is there anything I can do other than a wheel cover that would reduce this ?

Have you tried cleaning it? I mean really cleaning it.. This is how much gunk I cleaned off the steering wheel from a Toyota Camry this past weekend. It might just be the cause. Lol.

LOL.... I hope you're kidding Eldorado, I don't think I've had that much on my whole car.

But yea I did clean it. Last time used IPA. It's just this really slick smooth vinyl covering similar to this....

IPA may not have enough cleaning ability to give the steering wheel a deep cleaning from body oils. You would be surprised how dirty a steering wheel can get.

Probably not like up above lol.

              Michael and Eldorado,

Actually I'm pretty OCD about cleaning the interior. But if not IPA what do you suggest ? So far I've used cleaners, degreasers and the IPA.

              Thanks guys !!

How old is the car you're having the issue with?

I bet the steering wheel is pretty bad then.

Try some leather cleaner on it or some mild APC.
