    Painted engine cover, now paint is faded and rough

    I first painted it about 6-7 months ago. Came out perfect, super glossy and clean i wetsanded it and polished it with meguiars to a mirror finish.

    Now the paint looks like it was lightened, i used etching primer, high perfomance universal black, and regular clear coat from home depot. What did i do wrong and what caused my color to fade so bad with a rough texture?

    Without see any pictures...gonna say excessive heat is the culprit.
