Why use a wool pad with Diamond Cut instead of the burgundy foam pad?

hey bcgreen,

to answer your question the 85 diamond cut was designed to be used only with a wool pad and not a foam cutting pad.

didn't know it was made to be used with a wool pad only....i thought it could be used by what the PES video showed....

however, if it could've been used with any of those pads, the foam one would give a less aggressive cut than the wool one.

but well....a thing you could try, is buying some useless auomotive painted piece that can be buffed with no problem and experiment with both pads and see what happens :P

Buffing with foam requires a wetter product for more lubrication to reduce friction and heat to prevent burning the paint.

M84 is a wetter product than M85 and can be used with both foam cutting pads and wool cutting pads. The M85 is a less wet product, it was formulated to be used with a wool cutting pad for maximum efficiency, if you use it with a foam cutting pad you'll find it doesn't buff very well and tends to get dry and cake-up.
