~One man’s opinion / observations ~

A US power tool company, Porter-Cable established in 1914, began manufacturing an electrically operated Variable-Speed Random-Orbit Polisher in 1990, now one of the most popular used tool for professional and enthusiast detailers alike. Often known by the companies initials PC (Porter-Cable) but also called a ROB (random orbital buffer) or DA (duel action) polisher

Wonder why the Porter-Cable is the only one on the market? Well other than the $14.99 specials at walmart.

No, Makita also makes one

And it can be used in a second mode that includes rotary motion
And its speeds are the same as the PC

Its the only one we outside the USA can get, but it is also available in the US

Wow, this sounds nice! "Almost idiot proof..." that's re-assuring for a first time orbital polisher user. Now if I could just convince my wife that I need this...

~One man’s opinion / observations ~

Cyclo duel –head random orbital polishers have been around (1953) for longer than the Porter Cable (1990s) and they are both ‘idiot proof (I can use them what does that tell you)
