Once again I want to thank you for a great class and learning experience! Even though this is my second trip, I still learned a lot I missed, and forgot about the first time around. :xyxthumbs

As always, a very informative class. Man, there is just soooo much to learn and absorb when it comes to creating that perfect finish but these clinics impart so much knowledge I don't know what I'd do without them! Mike, once again you did an awesome job of making everything very clear, very concise. Well done!!

I really enjoyed today's class and learned quite a bit from the power point presentation, particularly about the products and what they are designed to accomplish. Before I attended my first Meguiar's event, an open garage a few months ago, I had very little knowledge about Meguiar's products. I would hear about them on the "other" message boards which I frequented but remained disinterested in a system in which the products were referred to by an unfriendly and seemingly unrelated system of numbers.
I would see the consumer line products in the automotive stores but I still wasn't lured by what seemed to me to be "low end" products. After all, if you could buy them at WalMart they couldn't possibly be as good as the stuff you had to get by mail order!
Well a few sessions with Mike Phillips has changed my outlook completely! I have become a total convert! Sure, the numbers can still be confusing but I don't need to know about every product and I also have come to realize that between 83, 80 and 21 and proper use of my DA polisher I can keep my car looking great! (Which it does, doesn't it?)
I should also say that I am not as devoted to those "other" detailing message boards as I used to be as I can get all the information I really need from Meguiar's Online.
Thanks Mike, for a great class today, although waving that can of 16 just out of reach of my outstretched arms was beyond cruel!

After pizza lunch it was time to head out to Meguiar's Garage to put what we learned in the classroom into practice including hands-on training with Meguiar's G100 Dual Action Polisher.

The sun was hiding today so we used the Swirl Finder to try to highlight the before and after results. The left hand side is before and the right hand side was polished out using ScratchX with a W-8006 foam polishing pad on the G100 at the 5.0 speed setting.

Even thought the sun was hiding, here's a shot taken from overhead showing 3 sections we worked on, the upper left is ScratchX by machine, the upper right is M80 by machine and the lower left section is ScratchX by hand.

Great class! (even though I was late)
Glad to meet some of the regulars on the board, snapped a few pictures, had a great time.

As they say, you learn something new each time.

Thanks Mike, I'll be on time for the next one :laughing

This was a great class. I learned a bunch of useful info. I sent you a quick question via email. I know questions should be posted here, but i don't think it would fit in on the forum. Thanks! :spot

What else can I say? The class is great with full of useful information, Mike is super as always with full of energy and interactive fun method of teaching, and people are incredible friendly and eager to learn even some of us hearing the same information for a few times already! Everytime I come to Meguiars, I learn something new or something that I already know but often overlook or forget.
I highly recommend anyone who want to learn proper technique to have show car finish attend the Sat's class and use Meguiar's products. I know I'm hook on Meguiars now!

btw, Thanks Kevin for the b-day cake!

Here are some pics that I took today. I omit some pics due to others already post similar pics. Enjoys!

Hey Mike,

Thanks for a great class as usual! :dp: Even though I've been to what 7 or 8 of these classes over the past 3 years, there is alway something to learn, or at the very least, solidify some area of my knowledge that needs some further shaping!

It was definitely a great time, seeing lots of old and new faces!

Mike, please accept my apologies for missing the class yesterday. Unfortunately, I woke up very ill and wasn't able to attend. I feel bad for not getting a chance to give any advanced notice, especially since the class was full and there were others who were hoping to get in on the standby list.

Looks like everyone had fun, I'm sure upset I missed it!

Awesome class guys! We both had an great time meeting everyone and attending the class!

I'd just like to add a special thanks to Mike Phillips for making our trip an awesome one! I don't know if you guys noticed this or not, but Mike was pretty ill, and for him to make that 2 hour drive(1 way, 4 hours round trip) just to come teach that class, on top of being ill says a lot about how much he cares about Meguiars and teaching this class!

We had an awesome time out there! But I have to say that you Ca. people need to learn how to drive! :D Seemed like everywhere we went, someone was pulling out in front of us, cutting us off or something! Guess you kind of have to drive like a maniac out there just to survive.

We got a chance to head out to Newport Beach after the class and take in the sights. Truely beautiful out there! I've never seen mountains right next to the beach like that. Simply breath taking!
After Newport Beach, we cruised out to Hollywood for the evening. Talk about some FREAKS! I got a special picture of the window display at the Hustler store, although I don't think it's safe to post on a public forum :D

I wanted to make an order to take advantage of the free shipping and discount. But unfortunately, we spent too much cash just to make the trip out there and back home. It'll be another month or so before I can make an order.

Once again, a huge thank you goes out to Mike Phillips! Jim and I both learned so much. It's very nice to have someone like you devote your time and energy, even though you were sick, just to make sure that WE detail our cars correctly. Barry needs to give you a raise! Or at least some extra money for a good dashboard ;) :D

Thanks!

Thanks to Meguiar’s for hosting this outstanding class on Saturday.

Mike, you did a great job of letting us know about all of the new products that are due out in
the next few weeks and answering all of our questions throughout the morning and afternoon.

As you know, last November 2005 I attended your class and learned much more than I
expected. But by taking your second class, and being able to meet most all of the experts that
attended, (Mike in Orange, Corvet Mike, Fatchance, Paul the other PC, etc.) I am now “armed
and dangerous” about keeping the Green Toyota Tundra Ltd. in as best of Meguiar’s condition
as can be accomplished by a non professional.

Because of Barry’s products and your classes, my neighbors call me a (Car) Nut under their
breath, but that’s OK as I have the best looking ride of all of them here in Surf City U.S.A.

Thank You for the doughnuts and coffee, pizza and the fantastic Meguiar’s gift bags. You guys
sure know how to impress.

Have a great Holiday season.
