View Full Version : Difference between the W64 and W65 rotary backing plates?

Here is the W65 Mirror Glaze Backing Plate (http://meguiarsdirect.com/detail/MEG+W65) and here is the W64 5" Rotary Backing plate (http://meguiarsdirect.com/detail/MEG+W64) - Is size the difference? Not real clear.

Just looks like size difference to me, and I think the W66 is actually different in that it adds significant padding.

Let's wait for Mike Phillips to chime in though, as I do not own either of those BPs and do not know for sure.

Both are rotary pads, but they are different sizes...

The W65 is designed to be used on our 8" pads...W4000, W7000, W8000, W9000.

The W64 is designed to be used on our 6.5" pads...W7006, W8006, W9006.

We have even heard of people using the smaller backing plate (W64) on the W4000 in order to have plenty of give on the edges.
