Feb 4th, 2009, 03:35 PM
Well... Do ya! :D

Feb 4th, 2009, 03:40 PM
Oh Yeah!

Feb 4th, 2009, 03:58 PM
yes, its a good button

Feb 4th, 2009, 04:04 PM
Yes, I will sit on Meguiars Online for 30 minutes or even longer, so I use it to see if anything new.

I use the "new posts" button frequently. I tend to go back and forth from MOL to work and back to MOL, so I think for me anyway it is an easy way to see who has or is posting and what they are posting.

I use the new post button on the sign in page, not at the top of the page, so I voted no. It might be the same button, but that's the one I use. So maybe it should have been yes. ????

Feb 5th, 2009, 06:24 AM
all the time :D, and then the new posts button :woot2

Feb 5th, 2009, 08:08 AM
This is perhaps the most lopsided poll ever on MOL.

Feb 5th, 2009, 08:41 AM
I use "Quick Links", then "Today's Posts."

This is perhaps the most lopsided poll ever on MOL.

Agreed! I figured most people use the button but didn't think it would be so overwhelming!

I might as well have started a "Do you like Meguiar's" poll. :)

Feb 5th, 2009, 04:09 PM
To put a little political spin on it:
The "No, I don't use the "New Posts" button" option is still holding in a solid second place with twice as many votes today as it had yesterday or a 100% increase.
The "Yes, I use the "New Posts" button" option is not showing near the percentage of increase with only about a 25% increase in the past day.
The "No, I don't use the "New Posts" button" supporters are encouraged with this turn of events and feel the tide is changing in their favor.

Funny post Charles. There's always a different way to look at it.

Feb 5th, 2009, 11:59 PM
sure do

Feb 6th, 2009, 08:26 AM
Since this poll, I've now switched to the "New Posts" button instead of "Quick links" then "Today's Posts."
So ignore my vote. :)

Consider yourself ignored! :D

Feb 6th, 2009, 05:37 PM
use it every time I am on MOL!!

Feb 7th, 2009, 05:04 AM
Can someone confirm is this only a temporary time limit cookie as sometimes in the middle of reading posts I get a error message saying something like no new messages found and I have to press the new messages button again and they reappear again from page one. Is there a way to extend this time?

Feb 7th, 2009, 08:26 AM
Yes, I use it all the time.

Same here :chuckle1

Feb 7th, 2009, 08:59 AM

Jun 3rd, 2009, 05:43 PM

Jun 3rd, 2009, 05:50 PM

Looks like the yesses may hold a slight edge.

And yes, yesses is the preferred spelling even though the spell checker doesn't approve. :)

Apr 3rd, 2010, 03:12 AM
Of course, how else do you start a new thread!

Apr 3rd, 2010, 07:41 AM
Use it browse most topics and skip some, then go to Detailing 101 and read all the new ones there.

Reading to learn, always a Noob!!

Apr 3rd, 2010, 07:47 AM
no, I only watch a small number of forums and dont care about posts in the others). More precisely, dont have time to read everything.

Hence on the mian page I scan to see what forums have new posts (bold and different icon) and if interested open it, if not interested double-click icon to mark forum as read. Lets me easily tell what is new andI read what forums most interest me.

I cheat, I clicked new posts and bookmarked the link. Now I never have to log in or click the new posts button. I just click my Meguiar's Online bookmark and it's a one step process.

When I first joined the forum, I spent my time searching threads for info., but I no longer do that either. If I need to find something like M105 vs. Ultimate Compound... I do a Google search "M105 vs. Ultimate Compound site:meguiarsonline.com". The Google search proves to be far more effective than the MOL search tool.
