They recommend taking the sprayer out of the bottle after each use and flushing it with regular water. Then just store the bottle with its cap on until you use it again.

This is really the only and best way to do it.

By the way, if you order bottles from ADS, they don't come with tops. I felt a bit jipped when I ordered a few bottles and they didn't have caps.

I've had a Windex bottle full of CLR and it's still spraying.

I had some extras from when I ordered the sample kit. If I were you, I would ask Rick to send you the caps. Since he sells the bottles and sprays separately, it should come with caps.

My Wheel Brightener has destroyed several chemical sprayer heads. So, I tend to rinse them after each use, and even then, some still stop working. :( I have to find a better solution as I always do not have time to rinse out the spray heads after every use... :(

Great thoughts above, but keep in mind...

There are a variety of sprayers available...If you using a chemical resistant sprayer like our D110542 (http://www.meguiarsdirect.com/detail/MEG+D110542), , it uses a viton rubber o-ring that is much more resistant to chemicals and heat...

That said, still not 100% chemical "proof" :D

2 days is still pretty quick for any sprayer to fail...

What sprayer are you using exactly ?
What kind of "wheel acid" are you using ?

I have had some of the chemical resistant sprayers fail on me on occasion, but a more common occurence is the sprayer head falling prey to an air lock of some sorts.

Usually when the sprayer fails me, I take it off the bottle, remove the feeder tube and then submerge the complete head in a bucket of clean water. Pumping it several times under water clears the air lock. Replace the feeder tube and I'm back in business.

When this process doesn't work, then I know it's the rubber o-ring that has failed.

My regular sprayer lasted only 2 uses even with flushing it with water after use. It made a hole in the seal.

I had an empty container of Dawn Power Dissolver (http://dawn-dish.com/en_US/powerdissolver.do). This stuff is something you would use if you were otherwise going to have to resort to oven cleaner but wanted to try a step less aggressive. In other words, it will remove clear coat if you leave it on too long; I leave it on a maximum of 5 minutes at a time to remove baked on brake dust a little bit at a time.

So I figured if the sprayer would hold up to that it would hold up to anything, so I put the sprayer on my Wheel Brightener bottle, and I have been spraying through it a few times a day for 2 or 3 days now, and it looks promising so far, still spraying strong, and I haven't flushed it out, just left it in.

The plastic tube does not fit all the way to the bottom, maybe 2/3, because the DPD is a shorter bottle.

If it fails at some point I will update.

Well, this failed after less than a week. I had been squirting it every day, but when it failed was when I was actually using it and had squirted it quite a few times. I may try this again but rinse it out after use and see if it lasts any longer. Not holding my breath, though.
