After Mike Pennington's presentation in the Training Classroom, members of Team Hybrid joined Mike Phillips in Meguiar's Garage for a Demonstration of NXT on the hood of a Acura Legend.

Mike Phillips
Feb 6th, 2004, 11:56 AM
For this demonstration, the hood has been taped off into three sections.

1) One section to apply NXT Tech Wax by hand
2) One section to apply NXT Tech wax using Meguiar’s G-100 Dual Action Polisher
3) One section that was left untouched to compare before and after results

After applying the NXT Tech Wax to the two sections, a volunteer was asked for to help remove the Tech Wax using a Meguiar’s Ultimate Wipe, a microfiber polishing cloth.

This young lady, (a member of Team Hybrid), demonstrates how easy the new NXT Tech Wax is to remove using a Meguiar’s Ultimate Wipe. Meguiar’s Ultimate Wipe, (Part number M-9910), is a soft, premium quality microfiber polishing cloth that makes the removal of polish and wax effortless, as well as dramatically reducing towel inflicted scratches.

Before inspecting the before and after results, the painters tape is carefully removed.

After removing the painters tape, members of Team Hybrid inspect the before & after results to see for themselves both the difference in depth, darkness, clarity, gloss and smoothness.

After members of Team Hybrid inspected the finish, I used the flash from my camera to capture the cobweb effect on the before side, and the lack of cobweb effect on the after side.

Notice the clear reflection of the ceiling lamp in the lower right hand corner.

(It's a little out of fuzzy because it's hard to focus on the surface of dark colored finishes -mp)

After the NXT demonstration, Buck Lasek joins in with the fun and demonstrates how to use Meguiar’s G-100 Dual Action Polisher to apply NXT Tech Wax to the deck lid of a Team Hybrid member’s Tuner. First Bucky applies some NXT Tech Wax to the face of a W-8006 foam polishing pad before beginng to machine polish the decklid.

Meguiar’s Inc. recently announced that Bucky Lasek, the world’s #1 "vert" skateboarder and multiple gold-medal winner at the X Games and Gravity Games, has been selected as its ambassador for the next generation of car enthusiasts.

Bucky is no stranger to machine buffing having worked in both body shops and detail shops buffing out customers cars.

Mike Phillips
Feb 6th, 2004, 01:02 PM
Here’s Bucky carefully buffing the outer edges of the deck lid. The cool thing about the G-100 Dual Action Polisher is that because the buffing pad oscillates instead of rotates, there is no risk of burning through your paint, or instilling swirls.

The thing that's so cool about cars is that it brings families together. Here's a Father with his son standing next to Dad's Datsun which he purchased new and has maintained and modified over the years.

I guess you could call this an old school tuner!

Here's another shot of this 1973 Datsun 260Z with the Meguiar's Renagade Special Events truck in the background.

Getting the door to open at this extreme angle must have taken an awful lot of work...

The effect is dramatic as well aesthetic…

Good job! :D
