I just purchased a new 2005 corvette with leather seats. What wiil be the best wax and leather product to use on a new car?

Hi cksrick,

Welcome to Meguiar's Online! :wavey

For protecting your Corvette's finish, Meguiar's recommends their NXT Tech Wax.

For conditioning and protecting your leather seats, we recommend our Gold Class Rich Leather Aloe Conditioner.

Hey Mike - I'm a newbie to leather. I know that the conditioner is Step 2, Step 1 is the cleaner. Can you explain the application process? If I'm not mistaken, if you clean, you must condition, but you can condition without cleaning, if the finish is already clean, of course. Does that make sense?

You are correct.

Meguiar's Gold Class Aloe 2-Step system gives you choice by offering your two approaches depending upon the condition of the leather. A new car with leather seats shouldn't need a dedicated cleaner as the seats are new, so Meguiar's offers you the option of only conditioning and protecting them. In the case of an older car with dirty neglected seats, a dedicated cleaner enables you to focus more energy on only cleaning.

As far as using these two products go, you can apply them to the surface using a portion of a cotton towel, or microfiber polishing cloth or a foam applicator pad. Using something with a nap will give your leather cleaner a little more bite for a little more cleaning strength.

After applying either of these two products wipe off any excess with a separate clean towel and you should be good to go.
